Our Stories

How closely do you listen to the stories you are telling yourself? Have you repeated them so many times that the neural pathways have not only been paved but resurfaced many times. If you are human, this is what you have done; we all do it. The nice thing however is that, due to the plasticity of the brain, you can dig that pavement up and resurface with a different, more supportive story. In the digging up and repurposing/resurfacing you can also separate out what you learned, what worked, what didn’t work, what different choices you could have made to achieve a different outcome.

Although my degree is in Engineering, and I worked as an engineer for many years, it did not make my heart sing. So, I went back to school and earned an MA. I became certified as a Healing Touch Practitioner and trained as a Professional Kinesiologist. Through all this I was, and am, a writer and poet. In times of despair, and in times of joy, my words have always come to me as poetry. That poetry has helped me make sense of the world around me.

My hope is that my poetry does the same for you. That it opens your eyes and your heart to seeing and experiencing life in a different way. I am here for you if you need/want help in being your own Life Lessons Archaeologist.

Have You Taken The Time .jpg

Have you taken the time
To really unwind
The stories you are telling inside?
Or do you accept them
Without question
And end up feeling less than?
Maybe it’s time
To leave them behind
And start being kind
To what you find
Underneath them.
