Bookmarks Festival

One of my values is generosity and giving back to the community I live in through volunteering. I spent the day today as a volunteer driver for one of the nicest people I have ever met - NYT bestselling author Amber Smith. She is one of the authors participating in the @bookmarksnc festival this weekend in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her books are for young adults. Through her books Amber is raising awareness of gendered violence and LGBTQ equality. As someone who is a firm believer in inclusivity and the value of diversity I am encouraged that these topics are being written about and discussed at the young adult level.
